The Organizer
The Jumpstart Creativity Tour and eCourse is being run by Jess Greene and her company, Seek Your Course.
Jess Greene is an encaustic painter and founder of Seek Your Course. Born in a coastal town north of Boston she grew up in rural Western Massachusetts where she discovered her love of the outdoors including backpacking, rock climbing and kayaking. From an early age she was passionate about creating and won many awards for her art at local events and county fairs. One of her favorite pastimes is designing houses, as her journal of floor plans will attest.
Her love of travel started young during auto trips with her family. At age 15 she travelled to Italy with her mother and has since visited 11 countries in Central and South America as well as Europe. Jess was homeschooled and at age 16 she enrolled in the University of Massachusetts, Amherst full-time. Setting aside her art for the most part, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Resource Economics and a Master’s degree in Education. For several years she led youth programs in her community and she taught 8th grade science for five years. During those years she rediscovered her love of art and the restorative nature of creating.
In 2008 she attended the Squam Art Workshops in New Hampshire and a new chapter in her life was born. She began her work in encaustics and in 2011 founded Seek Your Course to facilitate networking and creativity for adults. In 2011 she left her teaching position and completed an artist residency at La Fragua, in Belalcazar, Spain focusing on her encaustic work. In June 2012, Jess launched a four-month, coast to coast, 50 event, 10,000+ miles, Jumpstart Creativity Tour to network with other artists and advance her goal of igniting the creativity of adults.
Jess teaches encaustic painting in her home studio and has also taught at workshops in New Hampshire, Oregon, California and elsewhere in Massachusetts. Her paintings have been shown in many locations including, Boston, New York City, Miami, San Antonio, and Belalcazar, Spain. You can view her art on her personal website.
When not traveling, she resides in Western Massachusetts with her husband, Ben, and their two awesome dogs, Lexi and Basil.
